Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach for the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 team. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.
- Plan, organize, recruit and develop the Women's Ice Hockey programs.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to academic oversight, fundraising, and coordinating camps and coaching clinics.
- Coach the Women’s Ice Hockey Division I team in game competition in the ACHA. Direct daily practice during the prescribed season.
- Oversee hockey program, responsible for the development of the ACHA Division 1 team.
- Supervise Assistant Coaches.
- Recruit prospective student-athletes.
- Lead team travel.
- Responsible for team equipment checkout and return.
- Construct competition schedule with approval of the Director of Athletics.
- Assist with academic monitoring of student-athletes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness or related program is preferred.
- One year ice hockey coaching experience required at the professional, college or high school level.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to use personal vehicle to drive on behalf of the University.
- Must meet the Minimum Driver Qualifications as defined by the Use of Vehicles for University Business Policy.
- Must have strong team building/management skills.
- Ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner; strong written and verbal communication skills.
