Description
Under the direction of the Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, the Head Coach will have full responsibility for the sport. Head coaches should have a working knowledge of all conference and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations and adhere to these policies as they pertain to the job.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and coach members of the women's lacrosse program.
- Coordinate the total development and promotion of the women's lacrosse program.
- Generate additional funds for support of the program.
- Organize and schedule practice sessions.
- Schedule contests with approval of the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics.
- Responsible for department budget management.
- Effectively manage athletic scholarships.
- Represent Furman University and the women's lacrosse program in a professional manner.
- Provide oversight and training of assistant coaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with three to five (3-5) years of previous coaching experience at a NCAA institution is required.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
