Description
The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is seeking candidates for the part-time, seasonal Head Coach for Women's Rugby. The purpose of the club is promote and allow UMF students to participate in a world renowned international sport at a competitive level. The Head Coach Women's Rugby Club ensures that equipment and facilities are maintained and performs administrative duties.
Essential Duties:
- Attends all practices and matches; instructs team members on the rules of rugby.
- Attends Coastal Colonial Rugby Conference (CCRC) Annual General Meeting.
- Maintains annual paid membership to USA Rugby.
- Must be familiar with UMS Code of Conduct and the UMF Club Sports Code of Conduct.
- Addresses and mediates any misconduct within the team leadership and/or team members; consult with the supervisor as needed for possible violations.
- Collaborates with team captains to identify players and positions to be played for matches.
- Collaborates with team captains to nominate players to the CCRC all-star 7’s team.
- Notifies the club president and speaking captain when unable to attend practice sessions.
- Participates in annual review process by supervisor and team players.
- Work collaboratively with other Club Sport Coaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
- Must hold appropriate USA Rugby Level 200 Certified Coaching Certificate.
- Valid Driver’s License (in good standing based on UMS standards).
- Understanding /knowledge in concussion protocol processes.
