Description
The Head Women’s Rugby Coach will also serve in a second college assignment of one of the following: Athletic Coordinator, Housing Coordinator, Student Development Assistant, or Student Activities Coordinator. The employment in the above position is contingent upon the Head Coach being employed in both assigned positions.
Examples of Duties:
- Formulates a successful philosophy to promote the educational welfare and sportsmanship of the student-athlete.
- Manages and directs the women’s rugby athletic program.
- Manages all aspects of the team including strength and conditioning, practicing, competing and scheduling.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to identify and attract prospective student-athletes for the women’s rugby program, ensuring annual recruitment goals set by the administration are met.
- Directs and supervises the assistant women’s rugby coaches.
- Responsible for the women’s rugby student-athlete retention and roster management.
- Responsible for marketing the women’s rugby program.
- Develop and adhere to the budget set forth for the program.
- Responsible for ordering supplies and equipment and uniform purchases.
- Arranges travel for the team’s scrimmages and competitions during the season.
- Coordinates fundraising activities to help with the costs of additional items needed for the program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- College playing experience preferred, coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Must hold a current Class C Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement or willingness to complete prior to athletic season.
