Description
Under general supervision, perform coaching responsibilities necessary to administer all aspects of a comprehensive, highly competitive Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) college soccer program.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Responsible for all components of a highly competitive community college women’s soccer program including coaching, techniques, and developing players’ soccer skills, game strategies, and plays.
- Monitor academic and team members’ academic and eligibility progress and success, conduct and discipline according to requirements set by the NJCAA, Region 18, SWAC and SLCC.
- Responsible for compliance with all SLCC, Region 18, SWAC and NJCAA policies, rules and regulations concerning financial aid, recruiting and eligibility of student-athletes.
- Responsible for recruitment of quality student-athletes necessary to meet SLCC goals and philosophies.
- Responsible for budget management, practice organization, scheduling, scouting, sport camps, team supervision, strength and conditioning programs, travel plans and arrangements, coordination and supervision of assistant(s), consultation and monitoring of student-athletes.
- Supervise, manage and assist coach(es).
- Responsible to act in a professional, ethical manner by adhering to NJCAA, SLCC and athletic policies and procedures in all situations and circumstances.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding and implementing winning coaching strategies.
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, skills and procedures of a comprehensive, highly competitive Community College athletic program.
- Knowledge of administrative, managerial concepts and practices.
- Knowledge of NJCAA conference, region rules and regulations.
- Strong record keeping and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to counsel and motivate athletes.
- Current soccer skills, techniques, strategies and rules, strength conditioning and sports psychology at the collegiate level.
- Athletic training techniques, Risk Management, OSHA, Exposure Control procedures preferred.
