Head Cross Country Coach

Qualifications:

• Teacher certification as required by the state - Employed certified professional educator within county (regular fulltime or substitute) or authorized individual certified by the WVSSAC if a certified employee is not available.
• Knowledgeable in sports regarding rules and regulations of school policy and WVSSAC Handbook.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and support in area of responsibility.
• Establishing and implementing an improvement process for area of responsibility.
• Establishing good public and employee relations in area of responsibility.
• Maintaining professional work habits.
• Maintaining and upgrading his/her professional skills.
• Evaluating personnel under his/her supervision.
• Direct assignments and duties of assistant coaches working in his/her· sport.
• Be responsible for keeping practice periods for his/her sport within realistic or predetermined time allotments.
• Be responsible for the general maintenance and protection of equipment under his/her jurisdiction.
• Maintain regular contact and communication with the athletic director any information regarding program.
• Be responsible for a complete inventory, at the end of each season, of the equipment used for his/her sport.
• Be responsible for keeping records as requested by the athletic director.
