Serve as head coach to a middle school athletic team following the
Northern Conference Middle Level Activities Association regulations and Thompson School District policies. Coordinate assistant coaches, aides, volunteers, practices and other administrative duties.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge and expertise of skills and strategies in the particular
sport. Demonstrate ability to develop meaningful relationships with parents and student athletes. Good communication skills are essential. Ability to use data to inform coaching decisions. Knowledge of Northern Conference Middle Level Activities Association regulations and TSD policies.
Attend all practices, meets and/or games. Supervise assistant and volunteer coaches. Organize and run practice sessions that will develop sport specific skills and strategies. Monitor eligibility according to school/district guidelines. Communicate expectations and direction of the program to athletes and parents. Coordinate and work with the athletic director to include inventory of equipment, budget, transportation, practice schedule, assistant coach certification, etc. Follow Northern Conference Middle Level Activities Association regulations and TSD policies.
