Description
The primary responsibilities are to direct, support and supervise a successful intercollegiate Cross Country program, and serve as an assistant for the Track & Field program under the direction of the Head Track & Field Coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the spiritual development of each runner through intentional discipleship strategies, maximizing the team's potential/abilities, keeping athletes eligible, and retaining athletes through graduation.
- Ensure the spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, and social welfare of student-athletes.
- Develop, manage, and successfully lead the cross country program including developing and implementing training plans, scheduling, recruiting, equipment management, and appropriate social media involvement.
- Manage and operate within budget parameters, without exception, and work creatively to supplement the budget as needed.
- Work to grow and develop relationships with alumni of the Cross Country and Track & Field programs.
- Seek to know and understand the history of the Cross Country and Track & Field programs, honoring the legacy left behind by others.
- Ensure adherence with established institutional, league, and NAIA compliance rules, policies, and procedures as well as ethical standards of behavior.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Master's preferred.
- Must have some level of experience in coaching (Minimum of three (3) years at the college level or as a head coach) that includes recruiting student-athletes, marketing, scheduling, equipment budgeting/management.
