Description
Watertown High School seeks an exceptional Head Football Coach for our Boy’s Football Program. Candidates should be motivated, holding a positive attitude towards the team, coaches, and other athletic department staff members. The coach will emphasize the importance of team culture to: foster social, emotional, and physical growth & development and support student’s overall character development as a student-athlete. An emphasis is placed on the importance of continuous improvement, teamwork, diversity, sportsmanship, pride, work ethic, and the understanding of creating a positive and safe experience for all student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Create a safe environment for students in the locker room, on the field, and at all team events.
- Effectively motivate students to perform through positive coaching strategies.
- Develop and equitably enforce team rules, while clearly communicating them to players and families.
- Coordinate and supervise high school football programs as well as individual teams.
- Design a training program and game program.
- Organize and manage the coaching staff to ensure correct program implementation.
- Help students achieve gains in athletic skills and team performance.
- Train assistant coaches in techniques, skills, philosophy, rules, and strategies.
- Ensure the continual supervision of student-athletes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- CPR certification.
- Strong knowledge of scouting, player development, game management, and effective practice regimens.
- Prolonged sitting or standing.
- Ability to occasionally perform physical tasks, such as moving, lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing heavy objects and materials.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, and reach.
