Description
Job Goal:
Promote excellent athletic performance in a safe and sportsmanlike manner. To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Coaching.
- Knowledge of OSSAA Policy and Procedures.
- Current CPR Certification.
- Current Athletic Care & Prevention Certification.
- Courses in Coaching Theory Preferred.
- CDL Safety Education Certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Consults with the athletic director and school principal to set practice and competition schedules and participation rules. Systematically disseminate the information to players and parents.
- Consults with Athletic Director to schedule officials for Varsity, Junior Varsity, 7th, 8th, & 9th grade.
- Coordinates the scheduling of transportation for 7-12 grade football programs.
- Oversees the football budget.
- Coordinates fundraising for the football program.
- Coordinates with the Quarterback Club and actively provides leadership and direction to that organization.
- Serve as liaison for the booster club.
- Act as a team representative and promote the sport by communicating with the news media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other organizations.
- Maintains competency in rules, rule interpretations, meet procedures, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport by attending professional development clinics.
