Description
The Head Coach of Football is responsible for initiating various aspects of an NCAA Division I FCS level Football program, such as recruiting, scheduling opponents, training, and coaching team members. The Head Coach of Football is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Houston Baptist University, any league affiliation that HBU might have as well as the rules established by the NCAA. This is a full time, twelve-month position reporting to the Director of Athletics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a representative of the University displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the HBU community, and with the public.
- Is committed to the distinctive nature of Christian higher education and is fully supportive of the mission and vision of Houston Baptist University.
- Scouts, recruits and trains talented athletes for team which involves evaluating current and potential talent at high schools and junior colleges.
- Coaches athletes during games and practices.
- Schedules opponents with assistance of director of athletics.
- Operates within the rules as required by the conference and the NCAA.
