La Lumiere School
Description
The La Lumiere School Girls Golf Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school's regional girls golf team. The coach will be responsible for developing and implementing a successful golf program while ensuring the safety and well-being of all team members. The Head Coach must have strong leadership skills, be able to motivate players and work collaboratively with school administration and other coaches.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and communicate the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques of golf to be taught by coaches of the program.
- Develop and implement practice and game plans.
- Design practice schedules and drills that improve players' skills, fitness, and teamwork.
- Comply with all aspects of the coaching handbook & La Lumiere By-Laws and Policies.
- Monitor the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that athletes are present.
- Clearly communicate with the individual/team about goals, performance, and progress.
- Develop and maintain a competitive environment.
- Assist with hiring, direct, and supervise assistant coaches.
- Develop a strong rapport with students and provide mentorship and guidance as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of rules, rule interpretations, coaching techniques, and general information about all aspects of the sport.
- Comply with pre-season, in-season, and post-season expectations set forth by the Athletic Director and outlined in the coaches handbook.
Education/Experience:
- Coaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred.
- Knowledge of golf rules and strategies.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate players and create a positive team environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school administration, other coaching staff, and student-athletes.
