Description
The Head Lacrosse Coach will support the total mission of the College by planning, designing, and administrating programs, policies, and services that will contribute to the academic and athletic welfare of students through varsity athletics. The head coach will uphold the NCAA Division III and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) philosophies.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III women’s lacrosse program.
- Assist in monitoring the class excusals, academic progress and success of each student-athlete. Maintain a high standard of excellence in the classroom.
- Expected to create and foster a positive culture for the women’s lacrosse team.
- Pass the NCAA Division III Rules Test. Expected to work with the Compliance Director on all eligibility and compliance regulations.
- Conduct a vigorous recruiting program within the regulations of NCAA Division III and the MIAA while also working with the Saint Mary’s College Admission Department to coordinate recruitment efforts.
- Responsible for recruiting student-athletes who fit the academic profile and mission of Saint Mary’s College.
- Prepare student-athletes for competition through challenging practices, sound feedback, and clear instruction of skills and expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years of playing and/or coaching experience in lacrosse.
- Understanding of the NCAA Division III policies.
- Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications.
