Head Men’s Basketball Coach

Grays Harbor College is accepting applications for a Head Men's Basketball Coach. This position works with the Director of Athletics, the Athletic Commissioners, and campus departments to ensure compliance with all NWAC rules and regulations in areas including, but not limited to, recruiting, eligibility, scheduling, travel, and preparing student-athletes for competition at the collegiate level.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in coaching high school, club, or collegiate basketball. Preference given to collegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or will obtain as per condition of employment.
• Knowledge of NWAC codes and regulations or willingness to become knowledgeable.
• Valid unrestricted Washington Driver’s License or ability to obtain one upon employment.
• Ability to pass the GHC Van Driver’s Training and Safety class upon employment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise the Men's basketball program, assistant coaches, and players.
• Adhere to established Grays Harbor College Athletic Department Coaches Handbook.
• Aid in the academic oversight and achievements of student-athletes.
• Teach basketball skills and strategies to prepare individuals and the team for competition.
• Conduct a basketball program in accordance with established NWAC conference rules and regulations including the oversight of all eligibility rules and regulations as established in the Athletic Department policies and guidelines.
• Recruit and retain quality student-athletes for the men's basketball program.
• Manage a budget and make sound budgetary decisions related to the program.
• Arrange home and away participation schedules in cooperation with the Athletic Director and in alignment with budgetary guidelines.
