Head Men’s Basketball Coach

Northern State University is looking for a dynamic leader who will elevate this successful Division II program to consistently compete for conference, regional, and national championships. NSU has a rich tradition of excellence in men’s basketball and unprecedented community support.

Responsibilities:

• Leading a competitive NCAA Division II men’s basketball program.
• Day to day operations of the program, practice and season planning.
• Recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
• Academic success of student-athletes.
• Game preparation and strategy.
• Player development.
• Game scheduling, travel coordination.
• Budget management.
• Equipment purchasing.
• Hiring and managing assistant coaches.
• Organizing camps and clinics in support of the Men’s Basketball program.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred).
• 3-5 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of men’s basketball rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Playing experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues, student-athletes, and administrators.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
