Description
Gardner-Webb University invites applications for the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. The head coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects and management of a competitive NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer program including conducting practices and games, scheduling competitions, recruiting of qualified students, fundraising, fiscal oversight, and donor/alumni/community relations.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Plans and executes a successful program that would include duties such as: conducting regular team practice sessions; coaching the student athletes, evaluating athlete’s performance in practice and competition; monitoring the conditioning and training of student athletes, advises and counsels student athletes regarding their obligations to comply with all rules and regulations related to financial aid and eligibility, as well as personal conduct and academics. Develops competition schedule in conjunction with Director of Athletics to promote growth and success.
- Arranges and conducts recruiting functions including off- and on-campus visits, evaluations and contacts of prospective student-athletes.
- Attends community, alumni and donor-related events to garner support of program and University; represents program/university at Big South Conference meeting; attends regional and national conferences.
- Oversees all expenses and expectations of fiscal responsibility within designated budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s Preferred.
5 years of prior coaching experience at the college, club or professional sports level or as a collegiate athlete. - Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
- First Aid, CPR, AED Required (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of coaching and teaching techniques to effectively create and establish program culture.
- Knowledge of recruiting techniques and the ability to effectively use them for both domestic and international students.
