Description
The primary duties of the Head Men’s Soccer Coach consist of instructing athletes in the fundamentals and the performance of the sport of men’s soccer as well as teaching, tutoring, mentoring and coaching student athletes. In addition, as leaders of this sport, the coach exercises discretion and judgment in decisions affecting the student athletes and the employees of their department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Leads a men’s soccer program that is in harmony with and supportive of the institutional mission and philosophy of Bluefield University.
- Prepare and maintains a budget and controls inventory of men’s soccer equipment.
- Develops men’s soccer schedule with the Director of Athletics.
- Works with the athletic trainers and medical health services to insure the safety and well-being of the student athletes.
- DAB – Coordinates the production of all athletic broadcasts, connecting with other departments and positions to ensure appropriate marketing and access of each broadcast. Reports all score results to the proper media outlies and to the Sports Information Director.
- Provides recommendations for rewards for deserving athletes.
- Complies with all rules, policies and procedures as established by Bluefield University, the NAIA, NCCAA and AAC.
- Interprets University policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must possess a minimum of a B.S/B.A Degree.
- Must possess a current and working knowledge of NAIA regulations.
- Must possess a minimum of three to five years’ experience in coaching and/or teaching
- Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to be able to operate all equipment including but not limited to: copy machines, computers, faxes, scanners, telephones as well as specialized equipment typically found in a modern athletic office environment.
