Description
The Head Men’s Tennis Coach, oversees all aspects of the NCAA D-III Men’s Tennis program, ensuring compliance with NCAA, NCAC, and College policies. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, managing budgets, and fostering alumni connections. This 10-month position includes morning, evening, and weekend duties and may involve teaching in the Physical Education minor. Additional assignments in committee work and administration may be assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, and directs all team training and conditioning activities (with the support of strength and conditioning staff) and contest schedule at a level that will maintain the Men’s Tennis program’s position of competitive leadership in the North Coast Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III.
- Recruits academically and athletically strong applicants for the selective and competitive applicant pool at The College of Wooster in partnership with the Office of Advancement.
- Manages administrative tasks like budgeting, purchasing, and travel arrangements.
- Develops and maintains a strong alumnus and parent support system and work with the Office of Advancement in the area of fundraising.
- Maintains team statistical records and establishes a strong social media platform in partnership with the Office of Athletic Communications,
- Stays updated on coaching best practices.
- Supports student-athlete welfare with athletic trainers.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Three to five years related experience highlighting a successful record of coaching and recruiting at the intercollegiate level.
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification is required (and can be completed after hire).
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- The ability to obtain College driver certification is desirable.
