Description
Centre College invites qualified applicants for the full-time position of Head Men’s Tennis Coach. Reporting to the Director of Athletics, this position leads all aspects in building a nationally competitive Division III men’s tennis program, including but not limited to: identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development during practices and games, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, building a positive and cohesive team culture, scouting, and other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people;
- Organize, prepare, and conduct practices, trainings, and competitions;
- Successfully recruit student-athletes in accordance with all Centre College, Southern Athletic Association, and NCAA rules and regulations; mindful of the College’s core values of diversity and inclusion;
- While leading, monitoring, and coordinating training and practice sessions, ensuring all appropriate safety guidelines are followed;
- Responsibility for program budget to include travel, equipment, officials, and recruiting expenses;
- Supervision and mentoring of any volunteer or student assistants;
- Directing all aspects of the program.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with previous collegiate coaching experience required.
- CPR, AED, and First-Aid certifications will be required upon hire and must be kept current.
