Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Coach

The Men’s & Women’s Cross Country coach organizes, conducts and supervises all aspects of a Division II Men’s & Women’s Cross Country teams, within the parameters designated by the University, Sunshine State Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Duties and Tasks:

• Organizing, recruitment/evaluation of student-athletes.
• Conducting and supervising practices and player conditioning.
• Preparing for and implementing tournament and course strategies.
• Providing appropriate leadership, direction and supervision relevant to the academic progress and personal.
• Development of student-athletes within the men’s & women’s cross country teams.
• Creating a positive and productive environment for the student-athletes.
• Oversee administrative functions within the programs.
• Participating in conference and NCAA meetings.
• Adhering to all conference and NCAA rules/requirements relevant to the conduct of the programs.
• Preparing information relevant to budgeting, equipment needs, and program concerns.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of coaching tactics and techniques
• Ability to motivate student-athletes.
• Strong Leadership skills.
• Ability to prioritize practice plans, recruiting and match management.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer programs.
• Ability to recruit student athletes.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Well developed interpersonal communication skills to deal with recruits and their parents.
