Description
This position organizes, conducts and supervises all aspects of a Division II Men’s & Women’s Tennis teams, within the parameters designated by the University, Sunshine State Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
Duties and Tasks:
- Recruit, select, and retain high-caliber student-athletes for both men's and women's tennis teams.
- Plan/manage all competitions and practices of the program, including in-season and out-of-season player development.
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Provide successful coaching, counsel and direction, to ensure that team members have the opportunity to realize their potential as athletes, students, and members of the general University community.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of both athletic and academic success.
- Collaborate with academic support services to ensure student-athletes meet eligibility requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous college or university tennis coaching experience.
- College playing experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
