Head Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Coach

To oversee all coaching and leadership aspects of model men’s and women’s track & field programs as they relate to academic commitment, supervision of staff and personnel, practice organization and instruction, meet preparation, recruitment, scheduling and budget management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate respect for the Catholic and Franciscan values of the university.
• Demonstrate the ability to relate effectively to student-athletes, coaches, staff, administration and the University community.
• Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement.
• Assumption of all coaching responsibilities related to the sport of track & field.
• Assumption of all administrative responsibilities related to the sport of track & field, including purchase and maintenance of all equipment and coordination of food, lodging and transportation needs.
• Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes.
• Development and enforcement of team rules.
• Planning, development and conducting of all in-season and off-season practices and conditioning sessions.
• Instruction and supervision of staff.
• Ensure that proper safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
• Coordinate all strategy related to the sport of track & field.
• Responsible for all aspects of recruitment in accordance with university and NAIA rules.
• Work in conjunction with athletic administration and Financial Aid Services in awarding financial assistance, specifically athletic scholarships.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Three years of track & field coaching experience.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
• Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to support the Catholic and Franciscan values of the University.
