The Ames Middle School coaching staff is seeking a Head Girls Wrestling Coach for the 2022-23 season.
Work Schedule: 2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m) Monday-Friday with various nights and weekends during the season.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Manages and supervises practice sessions that promotes safe techniques, individual growth, teamwork, discipline, respect and superior sportsmanship.
- Develops and organizes lineups for wrestling matches.
- Communicates effectively with assistant coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Helps develop and foster youth and girls wrestling in the Ames Community.
- Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level.
- Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
- Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Creates a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all athletes, families, and staff.
- Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
- Onsite work required.
- Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
- Experience coaching basketball at the high school level preferred.

Compensation: $2,737 season stipend
