Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the direction of the Softball program;
- Supports and implements the philosophy of Archbishop Carroll Athletics as enunciated by the President;
- Know, disseminates and enforces all rules and regulations of the school’s athletic conference and the Archbishop Carroll Athletic Handbook, ensuring adherence by all assistant coaches and students to all rules and procedures;
- Attends all appropriate meetings associated with the athletic program of the school, WCAC athletic conference and DCSAA; and other Softball specific affiliations.
- Shares responsibility for monitoring the eligibility of all the students participating in the softball program;
- Helps organize and maintain academic supports/interventions for student-athletes;
- Works closely with trainer to obtain the required medical certification and parental consent for all students participating in the softball program;
- Responsible for the proper reporting of all athletic injuries and/or other incidents at events under their supervision;
- Coordinates logistics and supervision for all aspects of practice, scrimmages, games and other events as specified by the Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
- Experience coaching high school level student-athletes.
- 2 or more years of coaching Softball.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Strong oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills, including problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
