Description
This position will serve as the Head Women’s softball coach and assume all duties of a head coach at the NCAA Division III level. This position will also collaborate with athletic management and personnel, performing additional duties within the athletics department to help with athletic and recreation operations.
Essential Duties:
- Recruit and retain student athlete softball players, maintaining a healthy softball roster with the ability to fulfill NCAA minimum contests every year.
- Manage and lead all aspects of game management for assigned games for Fall and Winter sports seasons.
- Provide additional coverage at Gentile Hall when needed.
- Coordinate with other departments and external contacts as needed.
- Represent department and university to both internal and external contacts at professional meetings and other special or public events as well as on committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working with students in an academic setting.
- Previous softball coaching experience.
- Equitable appreciation of all sports.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal with a variety of people in a courteous, tactful, and efficient manner.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Possess superior organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to recruit, retain, and maintain a healthy softball roster.
