Description
The Head Coach is responsible for overseeing the Softball program in areas of organization, administration, student-athlete recruitment and retention, coaching, and practice planning (skill development and strategy), and team fundraising. The position will report directly to the Assistant Vice President for Athletics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for administrating all aspects of the program under his/her charge including coaching, promoting, requisitioning and maintaining equipment, recruiting of perspective players, supervising assistants, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, and fulfilling other such duties as they arise or as assigned.
- Responsible for being thoroughly familiar with and complying with all University, Department, CACC and NCAA policies, and disseminate such information to assistant coaches and student athletes. This includes on-time completion of the NCAA coaching certification test.
- Responsible for assisting in the preparation of, and adhering to, deadlines and specific dates for the timely completion of all forms and related materials.
- Responsible for providing instructions and training necessary to create skills, techniques, and physical conditioning sufficient to enable each participant to compete safely and competently.
