Description
Essential Job Duties:
- Provide administration, leadership, and direction for the intercollegiate softball program.
- Teach individual softball skills and strategies; build, develop, and evaluate teamwork; and develop and enforce training rules.
- Monitor and support the academic performance, leadership, and progress of student-athletes with an emphasis on retaining student-athletes.
- Scout and recruit student-athletes who are qualified, both academically and athletically, for intercollegiate competition.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive relationships and effective communication with local area club and high school softball coaches and programs.
- Conduct intercollegiate programs in accordance with Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) and established college and athletic department rules and regulations.
- In collaboration with the Director of Athletics, work cooperatively with Student Activities leaders and staff.
- Develop collaborative and collegial relationships with other coaches, student leaders, and staff in the department and throughout the campus community.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school and/or college-level softball playing and/or coaching experience.
- Experience working with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Current valid unrestricted driver’s license.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain as per condition of employment.
