ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Head Softball Coach will provide oversight to the softball program.
- Assists in selecting qualified individuals to serve as assistant coaches in the program.
Operates the program with a liberal arts Division III philosophy, giving attention to the development of academic success, moral character, competitive success and emphasis on community service and promoting these to staff and student-athletes.
Responsible for organizing and conducting a positive and successful recruiting program, which includes distributing information concerning the sports program, arranging for visitation and cooperating with the Office of Admission in a coordinated effort to attract student-athletes to Otterbein University.
Responsible to the Athletics Director or his/her representative for all administrative areas of the athletic program involving, but not limited to, budget, equipment, staff, student-athlete control, academic success, OAC, NCAA rules and regulations, facility and weight room management, strength and conditioning, alumni relations, campus policies and procedures, and student-athlete image and discipline.
