Description
Under the direction of the Special Operations Supervisor, the Head Swim Coach is tasked with cultivating an environment that challenges and educates swimmers while placing an emphasis on safety, inclusion, and education. The Head Swim Coach provides leadership to the assistant coaches.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age or older.
- Previous experience as a competitive swimmer or competitive swim coach.
- Proficiency in all competitive strokes with the ability to demonstrate and mentor others in their execution using teaching aids as needed.
- Must have good interpersonal relationship skills.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team.
- Ability and willingness to assume responsibility for work performed.
- Good organizational skills, outgoing, detail oriented, and professional.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Creates a positive atmosphere that encourages swimmers to challenge themselves while ensuring a fun experience for all participants.
- Builds rapport with participants and motivates them to achieve higher levels of performance.
- Oversees the development of weekly workout routines and mentors direct
reports when changes are required for the benefit of the team. - Communicates effectively with surrounding municipalities to ensure the team is properly registered for meets.
- Ensures that accurate records are kept regarding individual placements during meets.
- Responsible for the supervision and well-being of swimmers during practices and swim meets.
- Assists in the organization and execution of all special activities and celebrations for the team.
