Description
Under general supervision, the Head Track Coach coaches individuals and groups regarding track and field activities. This position also explains and demonstrates the proper use of equipment; instructs athletes in proper track and field techniques; observes athletes to detect and correct mistakes; organizes and conducts competitive events; observes athletes to detect and correct mistakes; provides feedback on performance.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes workout programs for all participants of the track program and supervise participants at all times.
- Coordinates track and field competitive events.
- Organizes athletes and ensures attendance at events.
- Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of pertinent laws, codes, and safety regulations; track and field competition rules and procedures.
- Ability to work varied days and hours.
- Knowledge of modern principles/practices of track and field program development and implementation.
- Must have good communication skills and the ability to work with the public.
- Must have excellent communication and organizational skills.
