Head Varsity Basketball Coach

The head varsity basketball coach will handle all aspects of the high school basketball program. The coach will also assist with coordinating of the middle school program to help develop the feeder system for the high school program. The coach is responsible for teaching the athletes techniques, skills, and strategies that prepare the athletes for competition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hold organizational meetings for team recruitment.
• Develop a pre-season schedule for the athletes that includes; conditioning, strength training and skill development.
• Work with the administration to develop the season schedule.
• Work with the administrative assistant to ensure all essential paperwork and information is turned in to the athletic department.
• Conduct tryouts for the basketball program.
• Develop practice plans and schedules to help the players develop.
• Coach and instruct players regarding the rules, regulations, and skills of the game.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience as a head or assistant coach is preferred.
• Experience as a player is preferred.
• Knowledge of the techniques, strategies, and skills of basketball.
• Ability to recruit and motivate players.
• A passion for working with student-athletes and for basketball.
