Description
The head coach is responsible for creating an environment that reflects the values and goals of the Heschel School and its Athletic Department. As such, the head coach is responsible for instilling values of respect, teamwork, passion, fair play, and pride in representing the Heschel School.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrate effective teaching and coaching skills, tactics, and technique; Plan and implement effective practice plans and game strategies.

Demonstrate the ability to write a deliberate practice plan that balances the need for skill and tactical development.

Demonstrate commitment to delivering a positive student-athlete experience.

Emphasis on growth mindset— not just winning —as a sign of success

Assesses players’ skills and abilities to maximize performance and creates and sustains a winning culture and strategy from season to season.

Mentors and organizes individual and small group pre-season and off-season training.
Qualifications:

Three years of playing or coaching experience at a high level

Demonstrates the ability to give instructions properly and the knowledge of the rules and regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.

Must possess effective communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.

Must possess the ability to give feedback in a manner that advances a player’s knowledge, skill, and confidence.
