Description
The Head Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the varsity program, including practice planning, game preparation, team strategy, and fostering a positive team culture. The coach will also focus on supporting student-athletes’ academic success, personal growth, and character development, preparing them for both athletic and life challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, respect, integrity, and discipline.
- Mentor athletes to develop leadership, teamwork, and resilience both on and off the field.
- Build and maintain a competitive and inclusive varsity girls lacrosse program that fosters skill development, teamwork, and school spirit.
- Plan and implement practice sessions focused on skill-building, game strategies, and team dynamics.
- Develop and implement strategies for competition, ensuring the team is mentally and physically prepared for each game.
- Adjust in-game strategies as needed to maximize team performance and player development.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience in girls lacrosse, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of lacrosse fundamentals, strategies, and team dynamics.
- Ability to mentor student-athletes and develop both their athletic and personal skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification.
- NFHS Concussion in Sports Certification.
- First Aid & CPR Certification.
- MIAA Coaching Education Program.
