Description
This person, reporting to the director of athletics, will join an athletics program that includes 25 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The volleyball program includes two high school-level teams and at least four Middle School teams (mid-February to mid-April). This person is responsible for coaching the varsity team as well as oversight and coordination of the entire program.
Responsibilities:
- Compliance with all Lakeside School, Metro League, and WIAA policies and procedures.
- Commitment to providing supports, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student body who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences and levels of preparation as athletes.
- Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
- Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel.
- Management of the team budget and hiring processes.
- Development of the long-term vision for the volleyball program (scope & sequence);
- In partnership with other volleyball coaches, development of practice plans for all teams.
Qualifications:
- At least 25 years of age, have a clean driving record and a valid Washington state driver’s license.
- Be available for all practices and competitions from 3 pm daily during their coaching season with availability on weekends as required.
- Experience coaching volleyball at the club, high school or college level is required.
- Possess or obtain prior to the start of the season current First Aid/CPR certification.?
- Demonstration of cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the culture lenses they bring to interactions.
- An understanding of different perspectives, the ability to interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.
- Candidates must provide proof of vaccination and booster to human resources.
