Description
The Head Volleyball Coach is responsible for leading the school’s volleyball program, developing student-athletes both on and off the court. This includes planning and executing effective practice sessions, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, ensuring student-athlete development, and upholding the school’s values and athletic policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement effective training programs to develop fundamental and advanced volleyball skills.
- Plan and lead team practices, skill development sessions, and game strategies.
- Foster a competitive, disciplined, and positive team culture that encourages growth and sportsmanship.
- Provide constructive feedback to players to enhance their individual and team performance.
- Develop conditioning and strength programs to improve athletes’ physical performance.
- Develop effective game strategies, analyze opponents, and adjust gameplay accordingly.
- Organize and manage team rosters, lineups, and player rotations during matches.
- Oversee and manage game-day logistics, including warm-ups, strategy meetings, and player readiness.
- Promote a high level of competitiveness while ensuring respect for officials, opponents, and sportsmanship.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Ability to teach and mentor athletes of varying skill levels.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
- Commitment to sportsmanship, integrity, and the overall development of student-athletes.
