Description
Simmons University, an NCAA Division III member of The Great Northeast Athletic Conference is accepting applications for the position of head volleyball coach. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and Recreation, this position is responsible for the direction of the volleyball program, including, but not limited to the recruitment and retention of academically and athletically qualified student athletes, supervision of the assistant coach(es), budget management, on-court coaching, innovation regarding fundraising and alumni engagement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Conduct all official practices and games - 19 weeks.
- Create pre-season (2 weeks,) traditional season (12 weeks) and off-season practice schedules (5 weeks).
- Teach individual skills and game strategy.
- Mange team travel trips.
- Hire, train and supervise assistant coaching staff (2).
- Ensure all NCAA eligibility and medical clearance processes in coordination with Head Athletic Trainer.
- Manage team funds and fundraising activities.
- Conduct athlete leadership training.
- Manage family/parent support and engagement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of college coaching experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations governing recruitment, player eligibility and related functions is required.
- Applicant must hold a valid driver's license.
