Description
The head volleyball coach is responsible for the organization and implementation of a successful volleyball program. Develop a competitive program that is committed to the creation of student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academics, strong fundamental skills and sportsmanship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Coaching Experience.
- Must have knowledge of the technical aspects of a varsity program.
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below.
- Positive public relations skills.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate total development and promotion of the program.
- Promotes all athletes to participate in sports and activities throughout the school year.
- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
- Adjust coaching techniques, based on the ability of athletes.
- Arrange and conduct program-specific activities, such as summer training, skills-improvement sessions, and pre-season try-outs.
- Instruct athletes in rules, game strategies, and performance principles.
- Provide training, encouragement, and motivation to prepare athletes for competition.
- Hire, supervise, and train assistant coaches.
- Develop and arrange competition schedules and programs with the approval of the Athletic Director.
- Generate additional funds for the support of the program through approved fundraisers.
- Inventory and issue Athletic Equipment.
- Professionally communicate with the media.
- Carefully operate under state/league/school rules and regulations.
