Description
As part of the Athletic Department, the Head Volleyball Coach/Athletic Department Assistant is responsible for administration of all aspects of the intercollegiate volleyball program. In addition, this position has responsibility for assisting with athletic department game management.
Duties:
- Lead instructor of teaching and coaching student athletes during practice and games.
- Identify and evaluate the recruiting of prospective student athletes.
- Schedule of all in season athletic contests.
- Develop off-season conditioning and practice programs.
- Handle all equipment purchasing, fitting and maintenance of equipment.
- Implement the daily planning of team practices.
- Develop a program for team conditioning and workouts.
- Administer and oversee the operating and travel budgets for the program.
- Follow all college guidelines to ensure team compliance with NJCAA, TCCAA and college guidelines.
- Develop an academic success program for monitoring of student athletes academic progress.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Previous coaching experience at the collegiate or high school level.
- Experience in recruitment of student athletes.
- Ability to balance work schedule and adapt to schedule changes.
- Possession of a valid Tennessee driver license.
