Description
The Head Women’s Golf coach is responsible for all aspects in leading a competitive NCAA Division I women’s golf program to include, but not limited to: coaching (practice and in-game), recruiting, meeting NCAA APR requirements, fund-raising, positive encouragement towards student-athlete development, scheduling, and hiring staff.
Job Duties:
- Manage and direct the program;
- Recruit, teach and demonstrate golf skills;
- Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, former players, faculty, alumni and staff;
- Prepare team for competitions and schedule games;
- Manage a fiscally sound budget;
- Direct the assistant golf coach in coordinating study hall and tutoring;
- Monitor class schedules, grades and student-athlete academic progress;
- Work cooperatively with athletic personnel, attend department meetings and activities;
- Represent the university positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media and general public.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, coach and teach highly talented student-athletes.
- Ability to adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the university, the Southland Conference and the NCAA.
- Demonstrated ability to market and promote UIW women’s golf.
- Ability to effectively manage a sports budget.
- Must exhibit leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes.
- Must be a team player and have the ability to support and assist other employees.
- Must be dependable and have strong customer service skills.
- Be willing to work various hours including weekends, evenings and some holidays.
- Ability to consistently follow the Mission of the University.
