Description
Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach will be responsible for the identification, recruitment and instruction of California Lutheran University student athletes in the women's lacrosse program The position will include athletic administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics or their designee. The Head Coach is responsible for the management and administration of the sports program in adherence to the policies, rules and regulations of the University, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
Representative Duties:
- Develops and maintains an effective program to identify prospects for the Women's Lacrosse program.
- Conducts recruitment activities that adhere to the NCAA and SCIAC policies, procedures and rules.
- Provides effective supervision of Women's Lacrosse program student athletes in the generic areas of practice, competition, and life management.
- Represents CLU at all official Women's Lacrosse administrative activities related to the SCIAC conference and the NCAA.
- Oversees and manages all aspects of the staff and operations of the Women's Lacrosse.
- Effectively manages the fiscal resources for the Women's Lacrosse program. Provides reports and documentation as necessary to the Director of Athletics.
- Works cooperatively with the Director of Athletics and the Sports information Office to provide access between the media and the soccer program.
- Effectively prepares and communicates Women's Lacrosse schedules and results to the Sports Information Office, the Director of Athletics and all athletics support staff.
Supervises the Assistant Coach (es) and other part-time employees. - Coordinate all team transportation and similar responsibilities for out of town Women's Lacrosse.
- Develops and maintains a system to provide accurate records regarding individual and team performance for the SCIAC and the NCAA.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Management, or related fiel.
- Masters or Doctorate Degree.
- Expertise and experience in Athletics Administration.
- Commitment to the values, standards and expectations of NCAA Division III athletics and a liberal arts university.
- A proven ability to recruit quality student-athletes, primarily from the Southern California area.
