Description
Head Women’s Softball Coach is responsible for planning and implementation of a Women’s Softball program in which each participant is provided with a significant educational experience. Coach is expected to work with staff to develop quality student-athletes, foster institutional values, build the program and campus, and create a positive culture and image.
Position Accountabilities:
- Utilize University tools to ensure visibility to recruitment funnel and incorporation of and/or hands offs appropriate Enrollment Student Services staff members
- Use expert technical knowledge of Women’s Softball to develop and coach a successful program, including the development of high quality student-athletes, organizing and supervising practice, conditioning, and workouts, overseeing home events and managing travel for away events, supervising staff, and demonstrating athletic excellence.
- Work closely with the athletic training staff to ensure the safety and health of student-athletes.
- Report any known or suspected NAIA violations to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance, Director of Athletics, or Faculty Athletics Representative.
- Violation of NAIA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or correction action up to, and including termination of employment.
- Work closely with the Director of Compliance to complete required compliance paperwork in a timely fashion.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in coaching with at least three being at the college level.
- Commitment to student-athlete welfare and academic success.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to all NAIA and University rules.
- Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to travel on behalf of the University is required.
