Description
James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking a Head Women’s Tennis Coach. This position is a full-time, 12-month position with a full comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is upon first availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coaching, training and motivating student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success.
- Responsible for the administration of the Women’s Tennis program. Duties include organizing and scheduling practices, facilities, games, and weight training, arranging travel, lodging, meals; traveling with the team, and assistance developing and monitoring the Women’s Tennis Program budget.
- Responsible for recruiting quality student-athletes who meet admission requirements and who have the potential to graduate. Make determinations concerning scholarship offers and work with your Athletic Administrator/Admissions Office on prospective student-athletes.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant institutional, Sun Belt Conference, NCAA rules and regulations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community to better enhance public relations. Assist the Duke Club in the promotion and fundraising of JMU Athletics.
Qualifications:
- Proven coaching experience at the Division I level or the equivalent.
- Previous experience recruiting student-athletes at the Division I level or the equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree.
