Columbia Basin College ("CBC" or the "College") seeks a Completion Coach/Head Women's Volleyball Coach to assist in the delivery of comprehensive specialized services to enhance the retention and completion results of students at Columbia Basin College. The Completion Coach will employ proactive interventions for at-risk students, academic progress monitoring, general systems navigation, educational planning and provide academic advising during peak registration periods to support retention, persistence and completion. This position will be responsible for retention efforts and advising for student athletes and for a comprehensive call-out program to assist students with college transition. In addition to Completion Coach duties, this position is also responsible for the development and maintenance of a competitive women's volleyball program within the guidelines of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) and the College. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Student Retention and Completion as well as the Director for Athletics for coaching responsibilities.
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
Two (2) years of experience working with diverse populations of varied ethnicities, ages, backgrounds and abilities in an educational, nonprofit or social services setting;
Experience giving oral presentations in a group setting;
Experience playing or coaching competitive volleyball;
Have a valid US driver's license; and
Have a current CPR/First Aid Card at the time of hire.
Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university;
One (1) year of experience working with under prepared adults, first generation college students, and/or students with special needs;
Experience in a community college setting.
