Description
The Head Wrestling Coach will oversee all aspects of the wrestling program, from varsity to feeder programs, and be responsible for cultivating a culture of championship-level performance, positive community engagement, and personal development. The successful candidate will lead with integrity, passion, and a commitment to sportsmanship, citizenship, and excellence in every facet of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a successful high school wrestling program known for state-level competition and titles.
- Develop student-athletes both athletically and personally, emphasizing accountability, teamwork, and character.
- Build and maintain a winning culture rooted in hard work, respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Engage with parents, alumni, and community members to promote and grow the program.
- Oversee assistant coaches and work collaboratively with athletic administration and academic staff.
- Ensure the program aligns with school values, academic standards, and eligibility requirements.
- Organize and run practices, conditioning, film study, and team-building activities.
- Coordinate schedules, transportation, equipment needs, and budgeting.
- Foster strong relationships with middle school and youth programs to sustain long-term program success.
Qualifications:
- Prior head coaching or high-level assistant coaching experience (preferably in a high-performing program).
- Demonstrated success in developing athletes and building competitive teams.
- Proven ability to lead with integrity and inspire student-athletes.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Commitment to the academic success and personal growth of every athlete.
