Head Wrestling Coach – Middle School

Durango School District 9-R is accepting applications for Head Wrestling Coach at Miller Middle School.  This coaching position includes instructing middle school students (grades 7 and 8) in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training of wrestling. We are a member of the San Juan Basin League;  the season runs late January 2024 through mid March 2024.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and ability to organize and positively lead athletes and Wrestling coaching staff.
• Fundamental knowledge of wrestling.
• Experience working with school-aged athletes.
• CPR/AED certified, or ability to get certified.
• Plan and organize practices.
• Instruct players on techniques to develop fundamental skills.
• Provide feedback to help players improve.
• Encourage and support good teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Assist head coach in other duties.
• Communicate with players, coaches, parents, AD and admin.
