Cape Fear Center for Inquiry (CFCI), is the oldest public charter school in Wilmington, NC. We are a K-8 school committed to promoting students' abilities to think and create in personally meaningful ways through an inquiry-based, integrated curriculum in a nurturing and empowering environment. At CFCI, we believe that the whole child is more important than any single factor. We recognize physical, intellectual, emotional and social development as integral parts of each child's growth and learning process.
What do we believe?
• We focus on student inquiry because we believe that all children have an innate sense of wonder.
• We are committed to a small student-teacher ratio because this is the best way to create communities of learners.
• We implement a comprehensive social curriculum because children learn best in a safe and caring environment where every child is respected and valued.
• We rely on mutual support of home, school and community. Communication and family involvement are vital to ensuring student growth. We agree that nurturing and educating children are monumental tasks that require collaborative efforts.
Who are we looking for?

Our teachers work closely with their colleagues, developing curriculum and helping shape the culture of the school in accordance with the school's mission and its implementation of challenging, project-based learning. We are looking for educators who embrace our mission, our vision, our goals and who yearn to work collaboratively with their colleagues to build a truly integrated curriculum experience for students. We want educators who teach with their doors open, who invite parents, colleagues, observers and volunteers into their classrooms and into hands-on learning with students.
