Description
The High School Athletic Director works to develop and oversee athletic programs that promote and support the school’s mission statement. He or she is responsible for the initiation and operational management of the athletic program for PRCA, and serves as the spiritual leader for student-athletes and coaches, committed to applying biblical principles and guiding a Christ-centered school culture through athletics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain the school’s mission within the purpose of athletics.
- Find, recruit, and hire qualified coaches.
- Train coaches in 3D or Discipleship Coaching methods that support the school’s mission, philosophy, and policy.
- Assist coaches in developing goals and a general plan for the development of skills and Christian character in the athletes in their sport.
- Meet with coaches throughout the season (and in the off season) on coaching philosophy, team rules, lettering policies, policy compliance, program improvement, and program needs.
- Oversee and record program-specific team rules and lettering policies.
- Oversee the development of the practice schedule and competition management of each sport.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Education, Physical Education, or Sports Administration.
- Teacher certification preferred.
- 3 or more years of teaching experience preferred.
- 3 or more years head coaching experience preferred.
