Description
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the school’s athletic programs including, but not limited to: Coaching Staff; Scheduling; Budgets; Compliance with Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) rules.
- Recruit, supervise and evaluated coaching staff and other athletic personnel.
- Oversee maintenance of athletic facilities and equipment in good working order.
- Facilitate and oversee athletic based contracts with the purchasing department (e.g. facility rentals, referee payments).
- Create and implement safety protocols to ensure well-being of student athletes.
- Represents the athletic department and the school in a positive and professional manner.
- Complete and submit required reports to school administration and the LHSAA.
- Manage the athletic department budget in conjunction with the CFO and Foundation.
- Oversee scheduling of games, practices, and athletic events in compliance with LHSAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Has at least a bachelor’s degree and working towards teaching certification and license in subject teaching.
- Has at least two years of successful (students have made at least 1.5 years growth each year) classroom experience with a title 1 school. (this qualification may be waived in times of staffing need as determined by the Principal
- Uses data to inform decisions and is achievement driven.
- Has demonstrated mastery of lesson planning and long-term planning.
- Has outstanding behavior management and investment system.
- Has demonstrated mastery in time-management skills.
