Description
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF invites motivated students and graduates to apply for a position as Junior, Assistant, Associate, and Full Specialist in Clinical Research, focusing on women’s sports medicine.
Qualifications:
- Junior Specialist: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in a relevant field, such as Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline or at least four years of research experience, with demonstrated research experience.
- Assistant Specialist: Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in a relevant field, such as Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 3 or more years of research experience.
- Associate Specialist: Master’s degree (or equivalent degree) in a relevant field, such as Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline or five or more years of relevant experience.
- Full Specialist: terminal degree (or equivalent degree) in a relevant field, such as Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization.
- Applicant must have all requirements met by time of hire.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting literature reviews to identify knowledge gaps and formulate research questions.
- Developing testable hypotheses.
- Designing and conducting studies (prospective and retrospective).
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data using advanced statistical methods.
- Preparing and submitting manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications.
- Presenting findings at academic conferences. -Contributing to grant applications for research funding.
