Description
Qualifications:
- Successful candidates must have college teaching experience.
- Previous experience in supervision of field experiences.
- Ability to model effective teaching practices.
- Evidence of scholarly productivity with expertise in either quantitative or qualitative research.
- Ability to infuse research and classroom technology in coursework.
- Three or more years of teaching within the public-school physical education setting (preferred).
- Preference will be given to one who is familiar with using data-supported learning to support instruction in physical education.
Duties:
- Teach undergraduate elementary and secondary education Physical Education courses, Fitness for Life class, and activity skills classes in the Physical Education Teacher Education program as assigned by the Teacher Education department.
- Possibly teach coaching education classes.
- Engage in an established line of research resulting in its dissemination in appropriate venues that meet and/or exceed the MSE guidelines for scholarly work (dependent on the candidate's incoming rank).
- Demonstrates the ability to mentor undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly work.
- Supervise undergraduate field experiences in K-12 public school placements.
- Provide service to the university, college, department, profession, and community.
- Provide academic advisement to students as assigned.
